When you make a booking through HosteD, we collect the following personal information: full name, phone number (including country code), email address, number of guests, preferred date and time, and any special requests you provide. We also collect your login information if you sign in via social or email authentication.
Your personal information is used to: (a) process and confirm your reservation; (b) share your contact details with the venue you are booking so they can confirm your visit; (c) verify your physical presence at a venue as part of our internal visit verification system; (d) send you booking confirmation and status updates; and (e) improve our platform and services.
By using HosteD and accepting our Terms & Conditions, you agree that HosteD may access your device's location while the app is actively open. We use your GPS coordinates solely to verify that you have physically visited the venue you booked — specifically, whether you are within 15 metres of the venue for a minimum of 15 minutes. This is an internal verification mechanism used to ensure service quality and accurate commission reporting between HosteD and its partner venues. Location data is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers beyond the verification event. We do not track your location in the background, at any other time, or for any other purpose.
We share your booking details (name, phone number, email, party size, date, and time) with the venue you have booked. This is necessary for the venue to confirm your reservation. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data with service providers (such as SMS notification providers) solely to deliver booking notifications on our behalf.
We retain your booking data for a period of 24 months from the date of your booking. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure session management, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
